ELAN

Things that have me in a jolly mood today (in no particular order): The sun has returned to Boston. Laveranues Coles (one of my fantasy football wideouts) went for 5 catches and 106 yards last night. My company is taking off the afternoon to cruise on over to George's Island to eat lobster and steamers among other New England-y yummies. A good, fun Friday morning meeting. This picture, taken after said meeting. The arrival tonight of a weekend visitor. Tickets: tomorrow night, Bruce Springsteen, Fenway Park.

GRIDIRON GURU

I'm one of the owners of a fantasy football team that Bryan set up for a group of ten would-be professional pigskin franchise owners. Last night, we held our draft online. There was the requisite trash-talking and a healthy dose of juvenile behavior; despite some technical difficulties, it was quite fun.

Maybe it was because our draft stretched late into the night, but I woke up this morning and half expected SportsCenter to have run a piece on the brilliance of my player pickups. But that's just plain silly. After all, I haven't even held my first press conference.
